Overview

This qualification provides a trade outcome in painting and decorating for both residential and commercial construction work. 
It covers skills in preparing surfaces, applying paints, decorative finishes, and wall coverings, as well as safe handling of materials and equipment used in the painting industry. 

Occupational Titles

    Licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements may differ between states and territories. Students should check with the relevant regulatory authority before undertaking work. 

    Completion of the general construction induction training (White Card) is mandatory for anyone carrying out construction work. 
    Achievement of CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement. 
    AIDC College delivers this unit prior to course commencement at no additional cost. 

    This qualification is also suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

Entry Requirements

Admissions  

  1. Prospective students must: 
  2. Be at least 18 years old at course commencement 
  3. Have completed studies equivalent to Australian Year 11 or higher 
  4. Demonstrate English proficiency with IELTS 6.0 (Academic or General), PTE 50, or equivalent 
  5. Complete AIDC’s ACSF LLND Assessments 
  6. Have access to a laptop/notebook with internet, MS Word, and MS Excel 
  7. Possess basic computer and MS Office skills
