About Us
What is AIDC?
Australian Institute of Design and Construction (AIDC) is a specialist education provider, located in Melbourne, VIC focused exclusively on construction, building and design-related qualifications. We deliver nationally recognised training aligned with Australian industry standards.
Is AIDC a new institution?
Yes. AIDC is a new institute established in 2025 to respond to industry demand for focused, practical construction and design education. Being new allows us to deliver modern, industry-aligned training with a strong student-centred approach.

AIDC College is located at:

Our campus is easily accessible by public transport and close to Melbourne’s CBD.

What courses does AIDC offer?
AIDC offers nationally recognised qualifications in:
- Carpentry
- Painting and Decorating
- Building and Construction
- Civil Construction Design
- Pathway programs and short courses
Are AIDC qualifications nationally recognised?
Yes. All AIDC qualifications are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and are recognised across Australia.
What is the mode of delivery?
Most AIDC courses are delivered face-to-face on campus, with structured timetables and practical training. Some courses may include supported digital learning components.
How long are the courses?
Course duration varies depending on the qualification. Full details are listed on each course page and in your Letter of Offer.
Can I study part-time?
Course availability and study modes vary. Most international student courses are delivered full-time in line with visa requirements. Please contact Admissions for advice.
Entry Requirements
What are the general entry requirements?
Applicants must generally:
Be 18 years or older at course commencement
Have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent (some courses accept Year 10 or 11)
Meet English language requirements of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent.
Complete AIDC’s ACSF LLND and Digital Skills Assessment (where applicable)
What English level do I need?
Most courses require:
IELTS 6.0 (Academic or General) or equivalent.
English requirements may vary by course. Always check the course page.
Can I apply if I don’t meet the English requirement yet?
In some cases, applicants may be advised to complete further English study before enrolling. Please contact Admissions to discuss your situation.

How long does it take to process an application?
Processing times vary but generally take 5–10 business days, depending on document completeness.
What documents do I need to apply?
You will usually need:
- Passport
- Academic transcripts
- English test results
- Resume (if applicable)
- RPL evidence (if applying)
What is a Letter of Offer?
A Letter of Offer outlines:
- Course details
- Fees and payment schedule
- Conditions of enrolment
- Refund information
You must accept the offer to proceed.
Visas & International Students
Do international students need a visa?
Yes. International students must hold a Student Visa (subclass 500) to study in Australia.
What is a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)?
A CoE is issued after you accept your offer and pay the required fees. It is required to apply for your student visa.
Does AIDC guarantee a visa?
No. Visa decisions are made solely by the Department of Home Affairs. AIDC cannot guarantee visa outcomes.
What is a Genuine Student (GS) Statement?
A GS Statement explains your genuine intention to study in Australia. Some students may be required to submit one as part of the visa or admission process.
Fees & Payments
What fees do I need to pay?
Fees may include:
- Tuition fees
- Materials fees
- Enrolment fee (non-refundable)

Can I pay my fees in instalments?
Yes, approved instalment plans may be available. Payment schedules are outlined in your offer.
What payment methods are accepted?

Are scholarships available?
Yes. AIDC offers scholarships for selected courses and intakes, subject to eligibility.
Accommodation & living
Does AIDC provide student accommodation?
No. AIDC does not provide on-campus accommodation, but we assist students in finding suitable housing.
How much does accommodation cost?
Costs vary depending on type and location. Shared accommodation typically ranges from $200–$350 per week.
Who does AIDC partner with for accommodation?
AIDC partners with UniLodge and can also guide students toward shared rentals, homestays and temporary accommodation.

What support services are available?
AIDC provides:

Is counselling available?
Yes. Confidential counselling and wellbeing support is available through Student Support.
Who do I contact if I have a problem?
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
What is RPL?
RPL allows students to gain credit for existing skills, knowledge or experience.
How do I apply for RPL?
RPL applications must be submitted with evidence and assessed before course commencement.
Attendance, Progress & Policies
Are attendance requirements compulsory?
Yes. Students must meet attendance and course progress requirements, particularly international students on student visas.
What if I have a complaint or appeal?
Students can access AIDC’s Complaints and Appeals Policy via the website.
